Extremely Disappointing Stay Unfortunately, our stay at the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort was extremely disappointing, especially given the positive reviews and the level of service we expected from a Marriott property. The issues began as soon as we arrived. We were given our room keys and told our room was ready, only to arrive and discover there was an unresolved maintenance issue. We had to wait outside the room for about 10 minutes. Maintenance issues happen, but we should not have been told the room was ready when it clearly wasn’t. After settling in, we decided to visit the private island. We boarded the boat only to be told that the island was closing for a private event. This was especially frustrating because we had spoken with the front desk beforehand and were specifically told we would be fine to go. Later, when we asked about the event, we were told there had never been a private event at all. We were left with completely conflicting information and no explanation for why we had been turned away. When we returned to our room, there was a nice surprise waiting for us, which we appreciated. However, we also noticed that some of our belongings had been moved despite having the “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed on our door. Regardless of the intention, a Do Not Disturb sign should mean that the room is not entered. The next morning, we had breakfast at Aquarius. The resort overall is fantastic. My only complaint is that the all inclusive package does not allow for guests to take food back up to their room. For the $900 price per person, that’s ridiculous. The resort managers should revisit this policy, adjust pricing, or at the very least tell guests that before they select that package.

The property was okay. We stayed here for 5 nights 7-26-8-1. There are a few important things for guest to know: When booking online, it wasn't clear that the resort is split into two sides. We thought we booked the adults only side, but found out upon check-in that we were placed on the family side. On the positive side, the room was cozy and the staff thoughtfully brought us a nice anniversary cake. However, we did run into some maintenance issues during our stay, including a fire alarm incident and water leaking from above that left a lingering unpleasant smell in our room for most of the trip. While staff did address the leak, we were disappointed that management didn't offer any accommodation or adjustment for the inconvenience. The location is quiet and primarily centered around eating and drinking- which suited our visit. The cruise ships dock nearby for overnight stays, which can occasionally be a bit noisy. The breakfast was delicious and the absolute highlight of staying at the Wind Creek Resort, the private island, which is about 7-minute boat ride away. Overall, given the price point and the issues we experienced, I likely wouldn't stay here again. We are booked already for next year somewhere else.
