Staff were good, room was very basic but clean bed very hard. Parking was not great if you have a car any bigger than a town car. Would recommend the crows nest for breakfast/food 5mins walk away.

Bit mixed experience. Good side: The receptionist lady was kind. Very welcoming. The room was clean. Even with shared facilities, it was maintained and cleaned. Checkin was at 11:00 sharp. Not a minute earlier Negative side: While check in was on time, some guy staff tried to open my door with his keys at 9:40. After confronting he said he thought I left. ( How about knocking) There was a group staying in next room and was very loud. Engaged in sexual activities and party and was very loud. It went on until 2am. Texted on the number provided but no response. Messaged through hotel.com chat, no response. Maybe just my bad luck. If you dont end up with such unfortunate guest in nsxt room, I guess the place is spot on for budget stay.

I was given the option of choosing a room on the ground floor or a room on the 2nd floor. I chose the 2nd floor room. The room was well presented and clean. It had a double and a single bed as well as a sink, fridge, kettle with tea and coffee. The bedding was comfortable and appeared to be very clean. They left a towel on the bed together with bottle of water which I appreciated. The bathroom with the toilet and shower were down a corridor and the shower was good with good pressure and temperature. I only met one member of staff who was very kind and professional. I arrived around 15.40 so I apologised as this was outside their core hours but they said it was fine. I appreciated their flexibility. The wifi was functional which was fine for my requirements. I was able to parking directly outside the guest house as all 3 spaces we free when I arrived. I would encourage other travellers to take their own shampoo and shower gel as these were not provided by the owners/operators of the guest house. Thanks very much Glenfield Lodge Guest House.

Stayed two nights. Received one towel and one bottle of water each at check-in. No one sits at the desk. You need to talk through the doorbell to get inside and another doorbell inside or phone “Bob” if you need further assistance. First room upstairs smelled of cigarette smoke and had butts on the roof outside the window, “ no smoking” though. Changed rooms to the ground level. One tiny window opened, no AC. Could hear the other guest(s) walking up and down the stairs through the night. A dirty old vape was left in the toilet room, again “no smoking”. Someone attempted to enter our room at 9 AM though checkout wasn’t until 10 AM, no knocking, no apologies. Left the keys in our locked room as instructed and never saw another soul before leaving. Recommendation: don’t stay in Leicester.
