Digital Services Act

Transparency report

How we moderate SecondBook, in figures: the notices we receive, what we review on our own initiative, the complaints against our decisions and how many people use the service. They are computed from our records, untouched, under Articles 15 and 24 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065).

How we order results

These are the main parameters of how we order listings and hotels (Art. 27). Nobody pays to appear higher.

You choose the order with “Sort by”. The options are:

  • Relevance: offers from the most recently added places first.
  • Soonest date: stays that start soonest first.
  • Latest date: stays that start latest first.
  • Biggest discount: the biggest cut on the booking's original price first.
  • Price, low to high: the lowest total first.
  • Price, high to low: the highest total first.
  • Relevance and popularity: the popularity order our hotel data provider gives us.
  • Top rated: the best guest score first.
  • Distance to centre: the closest to the centre first.
  • Most reviews: the hotels with the most reviews first, within the page you see.

We don't order results by your browsing: the same search shows everyone the same order. The “Personalised recommendations” option in Your data lets us use your browsing to suggest destinations; if you switch it off, that profile isn't built.

Offers from other websites

Next to the bookings people sell on SecondBook we show prices from booking websites such as Booking.com or Expedia, marked “Partner offers”. If you book one of them, you book on that website and under its terms. Nobody pays us to show them or to rank them higher, and today we receive no commission for these links. Within a hotel, prices are ordered from lowest to highest for the dates and guests you choose.

How we compute these figures

Periods are calendar half-years and years in UTC. Each item counts in the period it was received or opened.

“Automatically” means without a person deciding: a message blocked by the chat filter, or a suspension applied when an account reaches the warning limit. Listings are always reviewed by a person today.

Times are medians, from receipt to the decision recorded.

Figures are recomputed every hour; a period in progress keeps changing until it ends.
