The room had recently been renovated and was done so tastefully. The views of the strand and Magnetic Island were great. most things were walking distance, a great place to stay!!

Location is great, room a good size but no power points on the kitchen bench to plug in the toaster or jug. Also shower ceiling was peeling.

Very comfortable room, ample for two people. Bed was very comfortable. Lounge chair was very comfortable and great size. Kitchenette contained everything we needed. Ocean view was awesome. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. We flew into town and caught the 222 bus from the airport. Fare was 50c. Bus stop near Seaview hotel, which is walking distance to Aquarius. Front desk staff were extremely friendly. Will definitely be staying here again.

While visiting Townsville to spend time with my grand children, I chose to spend 5 nights Aquarius. I was not disappointed with anything, I was able to have the children over for a sleepover and they loved the swimming pool and view of the ocean and the pool from our 3rd floor. The staff were happy and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. My room was serviced daily and after busy days it was a pleasure to come home to. I will return again without a doubt. What a shame... The hotel has the most spectacular view but it was a less than satisfying experience because the cleaning was minimal (when asked about our second room not being cleaned the front desk said, "House keeping have gone home for the day" - it was 3.30 in the afternoon), the condition of the room was problematic (the headboard seems to have never been cleaned), the coffee table was chipped on every edge, the mirror in the bathroom had lost its reflective capacity around the edges, the shower had mould in various places as did other areas of the bathroom, the carpet was severely worn - please see the photos attached. The electrical equipment seemed to have not been inspected for there was no notification attached to deem such inspection completed. There are many places to eat around the venue but the hotel itself offers no cafe, which one might expect in a holiday destination. Visited this time because of reviews posted on various travel sites. I will be more circumspect next time and I will return to my usual abode in Palmer Street when I visit Townsville next. What a shame...
