Pool was full of a group of children when we arrived and at full capacity so had to wait. Hotel very dated and in need of some cosmetic work. Unable to stay in jacuzzi due to burning eyes as chlorine so strong. Breakfast - member of staff at the door did not even say good morning, very unprofessional. Lift out of order so had to climb 55 stairs to room.

The hotel looks impressive from the outside and it is nicely located. It is clean and the beds are comfortable. However, it isn’t just tired, it is exhausted. Threadbare carpets, old and out of date furniture abd fittings. Breakfast was nothing short of awful.

Yes it's showing its age a little but it's a gem and in such an amazing spot to enjoy the best town in Cornwall
