Your photos need updating. We left after first night. Should have been told there was no £10 breakfast as you advised and it’s not safe to go for a walk as rote stagings and paths closed off. Total waste of money and ruined my partner’s birthday

Carpets were grubby and there was a damp smell in the second bedroom. The bathroom was the highlight to be fair. It was very clean and modern. The let down for me was the bed itself. It was really uncomfortable, cheap bedding, cheap quilt and even cheaper pillows. Perfectly well made and clean just not comfy. The main bedroom light switch flashed all night and kept me awake. As a lone female traveller I did feel a bit intimidated with the remoteness of the lodge. Probably more suited to a couple. I left at 5.30 in the morning and it was pitch black as all the light bulbs were blown. Just needs a bit of TLC in areas in my opinion. My stay wasn’t awful but with tweaks on the bed and bedding it would have been a better experience.

Lovely peaceful, relaxing site. Room was also relaxing, the water bottles and small fridge a nice touch. Great shower, comfy bed. I stayed en route home after a weeks camping, so it was very welome

This venue is looking tired and needs some updating. It was evident that our room had not been cleaned for a while. The soap dispenser had a small leak which had been going long enough to deposit half the contents in the shower, making the cubicle very dangerous and slippery. The bathroom floor was past its best, the plastic coated tiles were peeling and were overdue for renewal. The balcony was neglected, bird dirt, cobwebs and a dirty ashtray. The carpet in the room had a dirty patch. The only facility, a vending machine, was empty and broken. No attempt had been made to compensate for this. And to cap it all, someone came into reception carrying a dead rat when we were checking out. On a positive note the ducks and fish were great.

The room was absolutely beautiful and extremely clean! We used self check in and self check out so didn’t have much interaction with the staff in person, but communication with them over email was excellent! The whole place is just stunning and we would happily stay there again.

Good parking, clean room, towels and linen. Tower fan in room was appreciated during the recent heatwave. Lovely cool breeze from the lake from 9pm onwards which was a relief after the heat of the day. Stayed for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised that the room was refreshed in the morning, including 2 bottles of water, again much appreciated as was the fridge. I took my own food but there is a microwave and communal crockery and cutlery, including wine glasses. 3rd visit and enjoyable every time. My only criticism is that the bathroom lights are on a sensor, meaning if you use the toilet in the night the fantastic led lights turn the (massive) bathroom into a bright morning.. Watching the fish and ducks makes up for it though 😁
