Really great experience for us the second time round for staying there. Had the deluxe room and it even came with the hot tub as a nice surprise for us both. Fab stay will return again before Christmas 2026 👍

There’s certainly nothing ‘grand’ about this hotel. Very dated and the images look nothing like the room that I had. Seems like an upgrade is much needed. Considering the price point, I would have expected better. Noise from outside during the night and I had the bins below my room so heard the collection in the morning. Convenient for the train station and the receptionist during check in was very friendly.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of our room. We weren't greatly impressed by the room as a whole but we were shocked to find quite a lot of black mould on the curtains in our room, which is a clear indicator that the rooms aren't cleaned sufficiently. We didn't notice the mold until the morning before we checked out, otherwise we would have asked to change rooms. The corridors of the hotel also had a very strong airfreshener smell which was incredibly unpleasant, so strong it gave us both a headache. We had to mostly hold our breath whilst walking to and from the room. Which makes you wonder, what smells they're trying to mask. The bed in our room was very uncomfortable and the room wasn't sound proofed so there was a lot of noise from outside until the early hours of the morning. I mentioned the mould to the receptionist when we checked out, she was somewhat apologetic, however, judging by the reaction I don't think it's the first time someones complained about this issue. I think for the price that we paid for the room for the night, it is completely inexcusable. A hotel with any sense or reputation to uphold would have offered an immediate refund, as black mold poses a serious health risk. The only positive was the location, being right next to the train station. Overall, incredibly disappointed and we will not be returning. Avoid!
