The property is a gated resort about 1 - 1.5 hour drive from the airport and Stone Town. It is a typical Jamaican/Mexican/Costa Rican higher-end resort. I had the fortune of staying in one of the newer rooms, so the room was nice with all updated amenities. The mattress firm, which is not to my taste, so that would be my only complaint. The property is very well maintained two pools and a lovely beach. I am more of a beach person and the permanently affixed grass umbrellas provided ample shade from the sun. The food was excellent! I loved the soups on the menu each evening. I informed the staff that I had dairy allergy and they made every accommodation to fit my needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The property offers a ranges of tours, so that you can enjoy other aspects of Zanzibar. There are currently sea urchins in the water, so you will need to watch were you step in the water. Yoga is offered daily except Wednesday and Sunday and the instructor is awesome. I also had two massages, both were very good for the price. No real complaints.

The spa massage girls are AMAZING. I have had my share of massages in 60 countries. These women are magical. I wanted to take them back to LA with me. The rest of the staff was wonderful too. Great place- beautiful people. Zanzibar is a jewel. Good food. Great pools. Great bar service. 😊 Just do NOT - from a scuba diver/ environmentalist- go on ANY DOLPHIN TOURS! They are barbaric. Coming from California- these poor animals are hunted by 32-130 boats and many drive OVER THE PODS- then tourists are allowed to JUMP ON THEM in the water. It turned my stomach. I was here for an environmental program to protect the ocean and sea life. Please don’t participate.

Amazing honeymoon room with its own private pool and garden including hammock. We got some surprises from the hotel which made our day. SPA was also very relaxing. It was an unforgettable honeymoon.

Great place to stay, the staff always help you with everything. The food is not amazing but is not bad. The only proble is the access to the property, there is no signs and it was really difficult to find the place.

We really looked forward to staying at the Zanzibar Queen given other reviews. It didnt disappoint. Fantastic location in beautifully kept grounds. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The pool area was clean and enticing. There was also boules, volleyball and badminton available to keep the body exercised. As well as table tennis and darts. The restaurant was superb. Ingredients and dishes were varied and akin to fine dining. Resort felt very private although effectively right on the beach. Rooms well decorated, hot showers and balconies facing the stunning indian ocean. A top recommendation and thanks to all the staff for looking after us so well.
