I stayed here for only one night but wished I'd stayed longer, I was a very nice experience indeed, from the moment I checked in I was treated exceptionally well by Ariane who made the arrival experience easy. The room was clean & quiet with the ensuite bathroom fully stocked & efficient. The breakfast (optional for a fee) was gourmet quality actually cooked by the co proprietor Jamie who I learned was a top chef so not surprised, there were various options too so plenty to choose from. The parking & outer spaces too were lovely & can't be praised higher. The overall experience of Yalbury Cottage is 5 stars & if anyone has trepidation of booking a room here relax as you won't regret it. Thank you Ariane & Jamie for looking after me so well and be assured I will be back when I get the chance although next time my stay will be much longer. Thanks Again John Prout.

When we arrived at Yalbury Cottage we were informed there was no evening restaurant option any more as that was now cancelled due to government circumstances and the Hotel has now been downgraded to Bed and breakfast only. You must request milk if you wish to make a drink in your room. This arrangement seems quite antiquated to me. You also must select an appointed time for breakfast which you have to maintain throughout your stay. We did select the time of 8:15 which seemed to work initially but on the last day of our three days stay sadly this was not the case. As we had some distance to travel home, and we arrived at breakfast at the allotted time to our dismay did other people immediately after us. To compound the situation even further both groups that arrived after us were discriminately served before us. The owner walked past our table to serve a guest that arrived after us which seemed to make this obvious to us. There seemed to be a preference to some other guests especially by the owner. You may want to bear that in mind if you intend to book this B & B. So, we arrived at 8:15, and breakfast arrived eventually an hour later. We checked out at 10:15 even though we were almost packed ready to go before we went to breakfast. If you are thinking of booking this accommodation, please be aware of the latest level of service and not totally reliant what the way it was used to be.
