This hotel is not worth the price. Location is good but almost no lobby is weird. Staff is very good and service very friendly.

The location is perfect, and the staff are exceptional. The food was also outstanding. In fact, it was the best food I had during my stay in Edinburgh, and better than what I experienced at several other hotels I visited at during the trip. There are, however, two things that could be improved. First, there is no air conditioning. Given that the room can become quite warm, this made sleeping uncomfortable during our three-night stay. Of course, you can open the balcony door, but that brings me to the second issue: the balconies are effectively accessible from the neighbouring rooms, which means you cannot comfortably leave the balcony door open for security and privacy reasons.

Our second stay here and as lovely as we remembered. Very convenient, close to the Royal Mile and everything Fringe, but much less crowded than Old Town. Our only complaint was early construction noise outside our room which was promptly addressed.

The bathroom area was not fit for us. It was a disabled area with no sink area storage space and a disabled toilet with no seat. We stayed in 209 last year which was a lot better.

Ridiculous overpricing from Marriott since they took over. These rooms were half the price 2-3 years ago. Staff were great but comparable value is poor. It is sad that Marriott are involved :( The bathrooms stink when you arrive and if not used for a couple of hours.
