This is an absolutely amazing place! Where else can you sleep in an actual train car then eat in their own perfectly restored dining car? The petting zoo was awesome and buggy rides great and it's proximity to two train museuma and a train station where you can ride a restored old steam train are perfect. It's located amidst Amish farms so you'll hear the clip clip of horse and buggies. Perfect for children and adults alike!

Our stay at the Red Caboose Motel was memorable and charming! For my kids, staying in a train caboose was a unique experience. The property was spotless and had plenty of towels, etc. Fitting six people in a caboose means there's not a lot of indoor space to spread out -- but the weather was gorgeous and we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoors and exploring the area. The motel is located within minutes of several great attractions (Amish buggy rides on site, Strasburg railroad, Toy Train Museum -- we received a B1G1 adult ticket voucher at check-in, Choo Choo Barn, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, Railroad museum, Amish village, etc), and the Strasburg railroad runs right by the property. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the Amish farmers next door as they harvested a corn field across the road, and buggies drove by at regular intervals. And the little petting zoo by the parking lot was a family favorite. Best of all, it was very economical and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We're so glad we visited!

This was a great experience!! The caboose was very clean and lots of things to do and see around the property! We also enjoyed breakfast in the train car! Staff were very helpful and friendly!

Very family friendly, unique place to stay. Accommodations were clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Countryside setting which brings peace and quiet. Close to shopping and other Lancaster attractions.
