The hotel was shut when I arrived. I had to search my phone to find a telephone number to seek help. We had to then use a code to get in and then another to access the room. The door handle had a plain shiny pad with no clue where to press. On trying to put in the code we pressed in the ling area and it sounded an alarm. Very unnerving. I rang the office again and insisted that she stayed in the phone until we were in. We put a bag on the dressing table and on picking it up again discovered it was dirty. All the surfaces in the room were very dusty. The beds were uncomfortable. As there were three beds in room we peeled back sheets to see if the mattresses were the same or if one might be better. To our disgust we discovered large yellow stains- gross. The bathroom was tiny. A small shallow cubicle at one end. This was the width of the bathroom. Too small in the shower to bend down to pick any you. The sink was tiny, one of the small oblong ones you get in a cloakroom. There was nowhere to put anything, no shelves, no hook. No towel rail. There was only one other car in the car park and we could find no staff anywhere. It was a very uncomfortable experience. I complained the following morning to a lady who said she was the owner. She offered a free night. I did not want to repeat the experience so I politely refused and we agreed on a refund. She took my telephone number and said she would be in touch. I have heard nothing since. I have emailed but have had no reply.

As a bar and restaurant this venue is lovely, as a hotel its found wanting. The rooms are advertised with king sized beds, but there are only doubles. On top of this the mattresses are so umcomfortable, lumpy and noisy springs. Had to get a second duvet to soften it up. At the rear of the hotel you have the night door which shakes the place whenever its slammed shut, and if you have a window open you get an intermitant waft of weed smoke from surrounding residents and or guests/staff. The breakfast is a basic continental, and its first come first served it seems as its not topped back up. Its a shame as its a lovely place with lovely food and drink, just not a great hotel experience.

We had lovely weekend stay at The Quayside Hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet and the walk in shower and separate bath were a welcome change. We dined in the restaurant on one night and found the menu to be extensive and quite reasonably priced. The food was delicious and very well presented. The ambience was relaxed and the decor felt modern and chic. The Continental breakfast was also well stocked with plenty of choice to suit all morning palettes. From check in to check out, everyone at The Quayside Hotel was friendly and helpful. In all, we had a very relaxing and pleasant stay.

Great stay as always. Had an evening meal in the hotel. Table was for 11 people so had a little wait for food to come out but was worth the wait all meals came out together and food was beautiful. Overall couldn’t fault our stay. 10/10.
