It was a mixed experience staying at the hotel. The hotel is beautiful inside and out and is uniquely placed inside a park, which was an exceptional surrounding for the stay. The outdoor area was wonderful, with beach chairs. The breakfast was nice, with a lot of options. The servings at the restaurant for dinner was small, but delicious. The downsides was the staff at the restaurants. Me and my family ate breakfast and dinner and ordered coffee, and each interaction we had with the staff was disappointing, considering a 5 star hotel and the money we spent on our stay. We were not allowed to switch tables for dinner even though there were alot of tables to choose from, a waiter walked away mid sentence, didn't present the food, and was overall not very accommodating. It gave us the feeling that we would be treated better if we spoke German or looked richer. This experience alone means that we will not be coming back.

The hotel is nicely located and has plenty of character from the outside, but the interior is very worn and dated. I travelled with my dog, and our room was located directly next to what seemed to be a staff or service room, with people constantly going in and out. The soundproofing was very poor, and it often sounded as though someone was entering our room. My dog reacted every time, and even I found it disturbing. It was therefore a particularly unsuitable room for a guest travelling with a dog. There was also a very long queue at checkout, so I would recommend avoiding the official checkout time. There was no proper queueing system, people kept cutting in, and I had to speak up several times. I explained at reception that the room had been poorly located considering I was travelling with a dog and suggested that they keep this in mind in the future. Despite this, I was still charged the additional pet fee, which I felt they could have waived as a gesture of goodwill. Overall, the stay was okay, especially as it was only for one night.

We had to change our room because some previous guests had not been very clean and the clean up was very bad, strange old smell in the room. It took the hotell 90min to change our room. This made us very late in using there facilities as the sauna, restaurant and the nightwalk around the city. This made my husband very disappointed and frustrated. The hotel compensated with two free drinks, free parking and two free desserts. So it was okay. But really 90min!? I would dare to point out that all the carpets in the hotel need to be cleaned.
