The remodeled parador is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious as well as the bathroom. Our bathroom had a problem with the bidet and the maintenance person could not fix it. Too bad bcs that is one feature that is disappearing in European hotels and I was very pleased to see it in the parador. The food in the restaurant was very good and so was the service. I must say that the service in the cafeteria/bar was beyond excellent. The staff was so diligent and sweet. I love this parador and will recommend it with my eyes closed. When in this area, this parador is IT.

We decided to stopover one night at Olite and stayed at Parador of Olite on our drive from San Sebastián to Barcelona. It was the best decision ever. The room was spacious and very confortable. The hotel was built on the property of an old Palace. The hotel room on the castle side was just gorgeous and worth every penny. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was one for the best meals we ever had. The palace next door was also with visiting. Comparing that to Sintra in Portugal, this one is much more interesting and worthwhile. Sintra was too commercialized, very crowded and not worth the time. It looks interesting outwardly but not much inside.

Our room was very good and had a nice view, but it was not the first room we were offered. There is a cafe where you can eat (instead of the restaurant) but we were not told about this. There were no instructions for using the WiFi - the strongest signal was one with our room number. This connected, but didn't work. After many calls to reception, we found out that we should have used the Paradore WiFi. We booked and paid Expedia. It took at least 20 minutes on check out to persuade reception that we didn't need to pay again. They seem to have multiple places they keep information, so that all interactions involved looking for something in one place, then another, then sometimes another, before they found it.

Beautiful historic hotel located in the "old castle" portion of the castle of the King of Navarre. The initial building dates back to Roman times and was add to by the Visigoths and again in the 13th century. The hotel is beautifully decorated, clean and right on the center square of the town. Staff are very friendly. The superior rooms we stayed in were individually decorated and the beds were comfortable. I highly recommend the hotel, especially if you love staying in unique historic locations.
