Helpful staff, clean room, good breakfast. Shame about the fire alarm going off twice during our 2 night stay but apparently second alarm was genuine after someone melted their iron into the carpet!

Pool and spa treatments were excellent as was the breakfast. Bathroom was not very clean and the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Staff at lunch and breakfast excellent.

The hotel itself is lovely, even if looking a little tired in places (peeling wallpaper, squint paintings, flaking paint etc). The girls on reception when we got there were too busy having a conversation with themselves to give us any information about the restaurant or facilities, we had to figure this out ourselves. We were handed a printed sheet with a welcome on it that should have been given by the reception staff rather than printed out. The bed was comfy and the room was pleasant and bathroom was clean. We slept well once we got to sleep due to the ancient rickety lift making a real racket until the early hours of the morning. The facilities were good, but I had asked by email for more information on spa treatments, but after the initial reply I heard nothing more back so didn't book the treatment I really wanted. Would we go back? I think it was just too expensive for the service we got, so probably not in all honesty.

I didn't stay at the hotel I complained about the grotesque condition of the first room and was given a second room, which was no better. The hotel is extremely outdated. Decor is outdated too and so is all the furnishings. I was so disappointed and upset I decided to go home. I won't be back.
