A charming historic building converted into a tasteful quirky hotel. There is no lift but lots of stairs going up and down and even to nowhere. It’s close to the English Bridge on a busy road convenient for the town and amenities.

Good location for the town, although on the small side do have a car park. Summer could be a struggle with no air conditioning

For a premium price, the experience is very average. We had maintenance work next to our room, on the outside of the building on a Sunday afternoon and directly outside of our room (fitting new carpets) from 8am the next morning. If this was known by us we would have not stayed. Also, the front rooms overlooking the road start to get very noisy from 0630-0700 in the morning with traffic. We raised the maintenance issues when we checked out and didn’t even receive a sorry.
