We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 5 minute walk to the beach. Rooms were nice, but the WiFi in the rooms weren’t too reliable. We went to the pool area to get online.

This in one of the places where ravishing reviews depart from personal experience. The good: a beautiful pool yard The bad: my room was derelict, renovated well over a decade ago. The AC did not work, dampened the floor, everything. The “welcome” desk was the coldest in my 50 years travelling, no courtesy. The ugly: in Tunez there are no private beaches, but the government rents them all the way up to 3 meters from the water. We seated in the beach with the same name as the hotel, we were expelled by 5 guards. The hotel reception never gave us direction on which was their beach, when I told them what happened, no apologies, they did not care. Summary, one of my worst experiences as a tourist in over 148 countries.

Ankom sent, og nattresepsjonisten var utrolig søt, snill og behjelpsom. Men etter det gikk det egentlig bare nedover. Personalet, foruten to helt nydelige ansatte, var vanskelig å kommunisere med, og vanskelig å få hjelp av. Kan være jeg var maks uheldig, men jeg opplevde at kun en av de ansatte i bar/restaurant faktisk ønsket å yte god service - han smilte, spurte hva jeg ønsket, kom og sjekket om jeg hadde det jeg trengte, og han gjorde en innsats for å snakke med meg på språk vi begge kunne forstå. Jeg er inneforstått med at jeg var på et fransk/arabisk-pratende sted, men jeg har aldri opplevd noen steder tidligere eller etter at det er så lite vilje til å prøve å kommunisere. I tillegg til dårlig service var det sand på gulvet da jeg kom til rommet. Madrassene var så harde at man kunne kjenne fjærene, kjøleskapet luktet gammel fisk, solsengene ved bassenget var ikke i god stand, ved ankomst til stranden var det mye søppel og ikke særlig innbydende.
