I’m leaving 1 star because we booked through hotels.com, the stay was fine and the staff are nice but after I checked out, the hotel took a further hotel payment for a night that we didn’t stay or book. I’ve emailed for my refund but no response. From a 5* hotel I find this appalling. I’d kindly like my money issued back to my card

Maybe due to the end of the season the hotel seemed a little tired. Some grime in the shower, some stains in the hallway, some frayed edges on the couch. Nothing huge but taken together, we'll, a little tired. Was also underwhelmed by the fitness room. Small, low ceiling, limited cardio. Need to get the spa employee to open the door. Staff were fine when needed. Quiet despite slammer doors. The property is at the top of a hill so keep that in mind.

The staff was excellent. The doormen were extremely attentive and courteous and helpful provided a very warm atmosphere. The beds in the room, however, are extremely stiff. Both my wife and my backs were hurting after sleeping. The bathroom was set up well, and the desk working area was away from the beds.
