This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we love it for the building’s charm and the exceptional staff who should be congratulated for superb service. Downsides: rooms can be noisy at night due to the central location (vehicles and people) and our shower was low pressure but remember that this was our second stay and we would stay there again so that speaks volumes.

I Portici is a swanky modern hotel in Bologna, near both the city center and the train station. The building is freshly renovated and everything feels new and functional. Nice decor, good heating, good soundproofing. Rooms are comfortable and very spacious. The bathroom large and warm. WiFi is fast and free, and there are enough power plugs near the bed. The only criticism I have is about the pillows, too thin and soft, which is a pity as the beds are otherwise very comfortable. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.

Terrific location, especially if you are coming to Bologna via train (about a seven minute walk). Very close to the historic district without being in the middle of a lot of touristy things. The hotel has a great coffee bar if you don’t want the full breakfast, and it has a nice restaurant plus a superb fancy one. Really a great place to stay. The room was not huge but it was very comfortable and quiet.
