Disappointing Experience – Poor Service & Accessibility Rating: 1 / 5 Stars I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay and will not be returning. Upon arrival for a two-night reservation, I was assigned a second-floor room. I explained that I am 78 years old with mobility issues and trouble navigating stairs, and requested a first-floor room. The clerk refused, stating the entire first floor was reserved strictly for guests with dogs. We checked out completely on Saturday morning and left the property. Because we were in a remote area with no cell service, I was not able to get a signal until 11:40 AM. I called immediately at 11:45 AM to cancel our second night—just 45 minutes past the standard checkout time. When I called to explain the situation, the clerk was rude, refused to listen to my explanation, and hung up on me. Having previously stayed at a Howard Johnson in Holbrook with a good experience, this level of customer service and lack of basic accommodation for seniors is completely unacceptable. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, but our room must have been a smoking room because it stunk like cigarettes, there was no coffee pot in room

This hotel just felt dirty. Carpets ripped and very old. Breakfast was poor. The hotel is great need of some major renovations. Everything looked old and is old.
