The hotel was beautiful, fabulous location right near the market square. The pool, steam room and sauna were a great way to relax at the end of a busy day, we really enjoyed that. The room was quite dark and lighting was not so great, found it a bit hard to see, but other than that we loved it and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent location in old town. Lots of restaurants and bars within short walking distance. Great breakfast with wide choice of hot and cold food.Spotlessly clean, well appointed room. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

This hotel has a marvellous ambiance. It’s a former merchant’s house from the 14th century and the hotel has been sympathetically restored keeping many of the old features. The bar has an amazing medieval mullioned window and the swimming pool is in the vaults under a centuries old brick arched roof. The hotel won an award for the best restored interior in Europe and the England team chose to stay here for the Euros. The mediaeval vibe continues in the bedroom with the doors and furniture and beamed roofs but yet it’s ultra modern at the same time. I really enjoyed my stay here.

The public areas of the hotel are very impressive, but the suite we had was somewhat disappointing. The room was very large but quite stark. The lighting was poor and there was not much of a sitting area, with just an uncomfortable sofa. There was no dressing table and no mirror. The pillows were too soft, with no others available in the room, and the quilt was too small for the bed. The bathroom was a major disappointment. The basin was cut into a large marble slab but was very shallow and had no stopper. There was nowhere convenient to hang hand towels. The large mirror above the basin was illuminated on one side, only, which made shaving difficult and make-up (for my wife) impossible. The magnified part of the mirror was at chest height, so pretty unusable. There should have been two basins and well illuminated mirrors.

Hotel is in a great place , just off the main square where there are plenty of eating /drinking places. Hotel was quiet, plenty of room in the bathroom/bedroom, lovely comfortable bed and it was nice to have a couple of comfortable chairs to sit in to read etc. Didn’t use the restaurant/bar facilities. Staff went over and above with regards to service, reception/house keeping etc. I did not use the massage facilities but used the pool which was lovely, when I return to krakow I will most certainly book Hotel Stary again. Thank you hotel stary for a lovely stay
