I will start with what I liked. The building is historic and beautiful in its construction and decoration. The breakfast was fantastic, with endless choices. Sadly, the list of dislikes is longer. Parking is not on-site and not free. They asked for €33/day for parking. The price is ridiculous for parking off-site. The room itself was OK; the bed was not. It was small, more like a double than the queen that was advertised. Our bed also had a footboard. This is not ideal for 2 tall people, especially since the bed was so small we couldn't go diagonal. The property also claims to have a full-service spa. What is not included is the fact that you have to pay to use anything other than the pool. Like the parking, we felt cheated by expecting something that wasn't really included. We were there for 2 days, in that time, the bar and restaurant (breakfast excluded) did not open. If all you want is a room in a historic building, this place is great. For anything else, you might keep looking.

Hotel Rūže is a hotel full of history and character. I recommend taking a walk around after you arrive, as you will find plenty of great spots for photos. Overall, the hotel is clean and tidy, and the location is convenient to the Flixbus station (about a 10-minute walk). Recommended!

We arrived early but couldn’t get an early check in so we left our bags at reception and decided to walk around. The city is pretty small, and you can see most things in one weekend. If you are driving note that there’s no parking on site but there’s one nearby that the hotel arranges it. We didn’t know about this before hand so we drove until we got to the hotel but that is a pedestrian area so we just dropped off the bags and returned to the entry of this area which is located a few meters before the hotel. I noticed that you can also organize pick up (from the parking but maybe from other places). Good breakfast.

The location is excellent. The hotel is okay, perfectly fine. Breakfast okay, not great. All in all, this hotel did not meet our expectations as the 5 stars it was marketed as. Unforunately, we did at first not get what we booked. But once I asked for everything I had already booked and paid (extra!) for in advance (airconditioned room, bottle of procecco, spa entry, and late checkout), we got it and the staff was friendly and helpful. But 5 star hotels would not miss out on things like these, and forget to give us the correct room, the extras or inform us about how to access the spa. Besides this, the building is in need of renovations but for a one night stay, it is not a big deal. So it is, as I wrote above, fine. But do not expect 5 stars. Please note you have to pay extra for bathrobe, slippers, etc, and bring your towel from the room to the spa. Also, the spa is one indoor pool: the jacuzzi is not included unless you pay extra.

very old hotel, but the facilities are alright. It is actually a great & interesting experience to stay in this hotel with such a long history.
