The intergate of Kyoto is talked about on Social Media a lot. But it was just blah. The covering over the windows just made it drab instead of giving it more of a Japanese feel. The sofa in the room was worn and placed very inconvenient. I was not pleased I had paid extra for a larger better room because it was still trash. Clean but not ultra clean. Everything was fair or just ok. What was good was being away from the main part of Kyoto. Kyoto the amount of food they had available and times they offered food was great. The amenities Station was nice as well. Thoughtful and helpful. The onsen is just ok. The showers we a nice touch but why do I need to bathe there when I have a shower in my room? Im not speaking of the showers to bathe before using the public bathe but the ones for cleansing. There is no ambience in the onsen so getting out is not hard to do. It was so drab and blah we left and spent our last night's at the hilton. Keeping our luggage was helpful prior to checking and if you go left out of the hotel go about .5 mile three is a Holly's Cafe. I've never been there but across the street from Holly's and next to the laesons is a café that was packed. We never found the name but it had some of the best food we had had in Japan in our 25 days of being there.

Excellent location- walkable to the main Kyoto attractions yet settled in a quiet part of the city. Great breakfast. Big and clean room.

The hotel is nuzzled up off the main road but easy to locate. I checked in late and left early during my one night stay. The room was very nice and priced within reason. I didn’t use the facilities or eat so I can’t comment. However the front desk staff, especially Ysas, was wonderful. We had a nice conversation and he was extremely helpful. Thank you so much. I wish I had more time to spend in Kyoto and at the hotel.
