Would have been five stars but for £8.44 price for a pint. Would usually have a couple in my hotel as a night cap but decided to have a few in a nearby pub instead.

We really enjoyed our stay, from the moment we checked in. We were shown to our room, which was on the ground floor. The bedroom was welcoming, the bed was comfortable, water in the fridge and a choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate to use when we wanted to make a hot drink. The hotel provides nice amenities and nice big fluffy towels. the breakfast was very good, there is a very choice of different options on offer and the staff were very friendly and we look forward to staying again.

Stunning and well designed Loft Suite which we upgraded to on arrival to the (but it doesn’t have a telescope on the balcony). Staff were absolutely lovely but the waiter didn’t seem able to manage the small number of tables at dinner Which was a shame. Lovely but not quite up to basic expectations, e.g., 3 times forgot my aperitif so I cancelled it. My trout was dry (either from overcooking or under heat lamps). All the toiletries are L’Occitane, plentiful and a joy to indulge in. Would I return? Yes. Room, beautiful. Reception, brilliant! Breakfast choices and vegan sausage, fabulous. Location, perfect.
