We were glad we hadn't chosen the most basic room option, with no window! We had the next level up, a tiny room with a window but no kettle or fridge, and it was OK for 1 night. Later, as the last night of a pre-booked tour with Arctic Adventures, we had a superior room, much larger with kettle and fridge, which was in line with something like a Holiday Inn room, but I think quite pricey, so you pays your money and takes your choice. Staff were helpful, breakfast good. If your room is at the front you can't have the window open in the early hours because tour buses drop and pick-up under your window, sometimes with engines running. Hotel Cabin is a long walk from the city centre but bus No12 runs frequently from very near by.

A pretty darn good place to stay in Reykjavik for the price. I’d stay here again without hesitation!
