Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. I really appreciated the complimentary room upgrade, which gave me a room on the top floor with a lovely city view. That said, I think the property could benefit from some renovation. The room felt a little dated, and the floors were quite creaky. However, these were minor drawbacks, and I still enjoyed my stay overall.

Room was huge and being a corner room, we liked windows on two sides. There's a step up to the bed area which creates a tripping hazard, especially when going to the bathroom at night. The bed is very tall and effortful to climb into. The carpet in the hallway was dirty/darker in the middle which didn't inspire confidence in the cleanliness of the room, but other surfaces seemed clean. I don't like showers without a handheld shower head. The shower head here was very low (I'm only 64" tall and had to stoop to shampoo). We couldn't find any fan or cooling controls, only a heater, so we had to open windows overnight. A bit noisy with sirens outside at times. We arrived late and left early and we would stay again if the price was low. I think we were in room 2107.

Great choice for 10day stay in Vancouver visiting family. Central location for getting easily to many features and restaurants. Room was clean and in good condition. Bed was comfy. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good and service was great. Coffee shop served Illy coffee and was useful to have on site. The only downside were the frequent siren sounds as the hotel is right next to the busy hospital. But we got used to these and it was just part of the busy city noise. Easy drop off and pickup for taxis under the front porch. The Big Bus hop-on, hop-off bus that does a good city tour stops right outside the hotel approx every 15-20mins, which was very useful. Would recommend.

Original room I booked was a 1 bedroom 2 queen bed suite. For whatever reason, my room wasn't available, so we were upgraded to a penthouse suite with 1 king bed. Beautiful room but I booked 2 beds for a reason. The only other option was a smaller room with 2 twin beds. So we took the king bed, and my wife slept on the couch. The hotel is right next to a Hospital, and you can LOUDLY hear sirens all night long. Other then the room mix up and the noise, it was a pleasant visit.

Great service and Location. Really great bed. Had a great lunch and service at the steak resto in the lobby. The pool is a bit sad but still happy to have access to the pool. Perhaps more lighting would be great down there.
