The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Some work was being carried out during our stay, but it did not cause any inconvenience. The hotel is located in a very quiet area, but there are no shops or many restaurants within walking distance. However, the food served at the hotel was excellent—in fact, some of the best we had during our trip. There was only one child at the hotel during our stay, who we believe belonged to the hotel owner.

In the middle of nowhere so need to get taxis to get to places. Our stay was nice HOWEVER they charge for everything!! Only one free refill of a glass bottle of water in the room and they charge for 500ml bottles of water for $1 each. Every lunch and dinner we had we were given free refill water (we were informed the glass bottles were refilled with drinking water however if you ordered plastic bottle you were charged $2) on the last night we ordered FREE water that was refilled but got the bill and they back tracked and said that the water was not free. We felt that reason was because they could not be bothered to adjust the bill to the correct amount even though previous times we were informed the refilled water was free. In terms of cleanliness the towels always had some stains on. Although there were faults we were content with our stay as the view and food was amazing.

The staff were phenomenal. Unfortunately, I witnessed a couple of incidents where they were spoken to in such disrespectful manners by manager and other guests.

gorgeous spacious resort beautifully designed, best in Zanzibar for a boutique hotel we have visited.quite good kitchen. Service is fine, not experienced. Front desk is quite inexperienced

Blue Moon really went above our expectations and that very much thanks to all the staff! The resort in it self is stunning and located so you really get to relax and enjoy. The jetty was amazing and we spent a lot of time there, but everyone working from the front desk, to resturant, to managers and housekeeping was so warm and welcoming! It really made and impact! It was bittersweet leaving this place, but we will most definitely be back sooner than later.
