Stayed for a couple of nights in the cottage next to main hotel, room lovely and warm. Had breakfasts and dinner both perfectly happy with, this is our third stay there when visiting family.

We booked a one night stay as a couple. We booked the king suite which was lovely and spacious. Big bed and a single bed too which we didn’t use. We had a bath and seperate shower which was nice, although the shower wasn’t great and we ended up with water all over the floor. But other than that the bathroom was lovely and big. Bed was a bit softer than I’d like but that’s just personal preference, my partner found it fine. There was a safe and mini fridge in the room which wasn’t expected, although we didn’t find the fridge straight away! The spa was lovely and didn’t get too busy. We loved the outdoor hydrotherapy pool especially. We found there wasn’t enough information available, such as what time breakfast is, where things are, what’s included etc. Staff weren’t overly friendly or helpful, nothing significantly rude or anything but just all seemed quite unbothered. Restaurant was ok, but nothing amazing for the price. We both had steaks (£28 each) which were fine, chips were lovely. But service was very slow and we were often waiting for drinks for a long time. The drinks were all very expensive too although we did expect that. I had cocktails at £12-15 each and he had lager at around £6 a pint. Things like Pepsi on tap were about £4 which I thought was a bit much. Breakfast in the morning was ok, but again it wasn’t clear what to do. We arrived about half 9 and thought it was a bit disorganised. You have to ask for any hot drinks you’d like, food was ok.
