Please make sure you check the room you book as there are huge differences in them. One had mold on the wall and one had stairs to each room within the unit. Best to check with the hotel itself and not just the booking site,

The hotel grounds are beautiful and it is a very nice property overall but the "family villa" that we booked is not actually a single villa. Rather, it is two separate hotel rooms that share a courtyard with private pool. This may be great for a family with teenage children or for two couples traveling together, but it is a terrible setup for families with younger kids. To walk between the two rooms, you walk across the courtyard and around the pool, which would not work at all for young kids in the middle of the night. Therefore, the only way to make it work is for one parent in each room. If we had known in advance that we were booking two separate non-connecting rooms rather than a two bedroom villa, we never would have stayed there.

The gardens around the property are beautiful, and all of the staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the quality of the rooms is very inconsistent. The first room we were allocated was very old and tired, with a removable padlock on the door, a dated bathroom that looked stained and unclean, and no television, despite the Expedia listing stating that our room included one. After we queried the missing TV, the hotel moved us to another room. This room was significantly better and genuinely felt like we had checked into a different hotel. The property has a lot of charm and potential, but it doesn’t appear to have been maintained to the standard expected of a four-star resort. I also twisted my ankle after stepping into a gap in the stairs, which is a quite a safety hazard (see photo). Overall, I wouldn’t rate this as a 4-star property. In my opinion, it is closer to a 3-star resort. Given my experience, I’m also surprised by its 9.4 rating on Expedia, especially as I stayed at several other hotels in Bali that offered a much higher standard of accommodation and maintenance.

It's a beautiful tranquil escape from the busy city traffic and at the same time it's steps away from said city and shops when you're ready to venture out. Staff are extremely courteous and helpful. They made special decorative arrangements knowing we were staying there for our wedding anniversary. On mornings when we had 2am and 4am wakeup calls for our excursions they prepared breakfast boxes and had them for us as we passed reception on way out. We stayed in the villa with private pool. Minor remark is that the shower plumbing had noticable wear and cracks causing water to spray in directions outside of the shower stall. It was fine for us and didn't affect our satisfaction. For the relative price of this place you're getting +++ value compared to small run-down hotel rooms in western countries. We would definitely come back!
