The location of the hotel is excellent and very close to the old town. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty—especially the Spanish omelette and fresh orange juice. However, the room was not clean enough. The shower was dirty, the water smelled like rust, and the bath towel was frayed. Unfortunately, we even found a bug under the duvet.

This was an excellent hotel. It was well located, very clean, and the rooms were spacious and interestingly designed. The elevator was big (fit 5 people and 3 suitcases!), especially for an historic building. Reception was friendly and efficient. Housekeeping was available every day, you just have to put out a door sign to come clean your room, which we were explained when we checked in. We have relatives in Krakow we were visiting, and we’re already planning to stay here again when we come next time.

We would not recommend this hotel. We stayed for 2 nights and when we had a shower it flooded the whole room. The contact numbers for reception didn’t work and my husband had to go and speak to a member of staff. He came to the room with 2 small cloths that weren’t doing anything to mop up the water. After about 20 minutes of him leaving to communicate with the owner he said that the only option we had was to move to a lower standard room. Whilst trying to pack our belongings I nearly slipped on 3 occasions and this was a massive health and safety issue. The room we were moved to had a strong smell of smoke and I had a terrible nights sleep. The next morning we were told that we needed to move back to our original room. We had a trip booked to Austwitz and highlighted how inconvenient this was. The staff member was rude and unapologetic and when we asked to speak to a manager she said that they were on holiday. We asked on numerous occasions to speak to a manager and were told the only way to do this was through the generic hotel email address. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
