Jacuzzi tub in room did not work. Toilet had urine on the seat. Cigarette burns in the blanket, staying.... Cockroaches.... Instantly checked out. Hotels.com disputed for me and got me a refund but it will take a week for a $400 room for two nights. People moving in TVs apparently living there. Do not go here!

It's decent lodging for a short stay. The room and bathroom were clean but I did find some hairs on the floor. The surrounding area has unsavory characters but the place itself is safe. I never felt threatened or insecure.

Generally speaking, the Thunderbird was approximately 20% more than the average rate for the average cheapest lodging. I stayed at the former and the latter during my trip, so I have some ground with which to compare. 20% was worth it. Overall, my impression of the Thunderbird is that of a motel navigating in some regards a crisis of the wider hospitality industry. There seemed to be amenities that were once offered but are no longer (the pool being the most obvious. Maybe it’s only available part of the year, but during my stay it seemed to be used as a place to dry wet clothes). My first experience the morning after my overnight stay was with a vagabond who emerged quite surprisingly from the direction of the derelict pool to ask for a dollar. But the place was nice enough otherwise: the shower was warm, the bed incredible, the A/C cool, the hair dryer present, the toiletries bountiful, the staff friendly (if not evidently overworked). One last note on the staff. One evening I stood over the balcony while a blaring ambulance speeded past the motel. I looked towards the parking lot and I saw the employee who checked me in hurriedly walking towards another guest room with extra towels, and I saw the moment that she heard the siren too. She, real quickly, made the sign of the cross on her body. If I interpreted correctly, she offered a quick prayer to whomever the ambulance was speeding towards. I found that to be such a beautiful gesture. For that, I would return.

This is a beautiful hotel . The art and signs are so wonderful. The staff is very helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Good price. Beautiful hotel.

Bad experience. The first room they put me in had a broken AC. Front desk didn’t believe me. They checked and put me in a second room that smelled like cleaning chemicals. I asked to try another room she said she would rather refund me but it was late at night I insisted on trying another room. The last room she put me in was dirty and she had to bring me towels because the room didn’t have them. The bed was indented in the middle I had to sleep on the edge where it was firm . Pillows were yellow and black and the sheets didn’t smell clean. The microwave is from the 80s or something and smelled weird and toxic and didn’t work when I turned it on. I had to go to the front desk and they were rude and said they were doing me a favor by letting me use anotjer broken microwave that didn’t rotate in another room. The pool and jacuzzi were not open for use and had no water in either. On top of being a terrible place to stay, the staff were awful and lazy too. The only good thing was that there was enough parking.
