We chose to stay at the hotel as we were attending a wedding in the area. The bedroom was OK, though I do feel it was overpriced, particularly when I discovered in the morning that the reason our bed sagged was that our bed frame had 6 broken slats. We didn't spot this at check in as we had dumped our bags and shot straight off to the wedding. The staff were accommodating in allowing us to check in before 4pm, but I'm afraid that I would not plan to stay there again. It was functionally useful but disappointed given the price.

Just what we needed for the money we paid. Barely saw staff but got what we needed

Good location, breakfast at the adjacent Burnside Hotel was excellent

Best to avoid this one. Its not really a b and b at all, instead more a holiday let. Hot, uncomfortable and needed updating. Breakfast is actually via a hotel 5 mins up the road. The bed was hard, the shower broken (stuck on red-hot) and the radiators on - despite 21 degrees heat outside! There are no staff onsite, only when they literally give you a key. The rooms have thin walls, ill-fitting doors and doors and no obvious fire-safety features. The pictures are rather strategically taken and old. This is not as it appears in the website. In addition, it's not a 15 min walk to town, as advertised. Double that. I hate to say it, but probably the worse stay I've ever had. The only redeeming feature is that it was indeed very clean.

The room was very clean and well decorated. The shower was unusable due to an excessive temperature. There was no tea and coffee in the room, but it was available in the main kitchen. We were greeted when we arrived but we needed more information about our stay. I booked the one night stay through hotels.com and expected a breakfast included deal. Our host said the there was no breakfast included in the price. However, we were told that there was a place to eat just a short walk away. This proved correct but we had to pay a surcharge for a breakfast. The property has massive potential and we would stay there again. But, it needs to be made clear to guests what exactly is on offer and there needs to be someone on hand to contact if there are any issues to sort.
