The stay was perfect until a fault with the fire alarm system caused the smoke detector in my room to go off at 05:30 and it couldn't be shut off or silenced making sleep impossible... Due to being fully booked there was no room to move me to... The Reception/Restaurant & Bar staff were brilliant and the food was excellent especially the Bacon Chop & Apple Crumble.

Booked last minute for daughter and son-in-law’s wedding night. Requested any special touches if possible, however none applied. Room was tired with peeling wallpaper. Had heard it had been recently renovated, hence why we chose it, but obviously only public area downstairs and not the upstairs. Breakfast was not included. Really good food, reasonably priced with nice views.

A lovely hotel and the staff were welcoming. This was a quiet break for myself and my soon to be married daughter. The room was lovely though the view was of the roof which was a shame and not of the beautiful scenery but we needed a rest so wasn’t too concerned. There was a good selection for hot drinks and complimentary biscuits and water which was a nice touch. The food is absolutely first class especially the Sunday Roast! Top marks to the chef and staff who were so friendly. Only one complaint was an odour in our room which the cleaner kindly tried to get rid of but it lingered and a few spiders. We were only there for a short break so didn’t make a fuss. Definitely will recommend ones to visit and definitely will stay again. Thank you.

Tried to order room service and when they eventually answered I was told, the restaurant is too busy and it will at least be an hour and half even 2 hours before I could get served. I was told to order in person downstairs. So I came down to order, was basically shamed into how could I dare try to order room service when the restaurant is busy! Again told 1 hour and half to 2 hour wait. But I put in my order and 10 mins later it arrived at my door!? So what was with all the warnings and harsh tone!? Why try to neglect hotel customers over someone in the restaurant. Maybe you’ll have to choose whether you want to be a restaurant or a hotel because it seems you can’t be both!
